Experienced Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik has officially bid farewell to Karachi Kings. This concludes his four-season stint with the former PSL champions. His departure was confirmed just before the PSL Season 10 player draft.

In a personal message posted on his X account (formerly Twitter), Malik expressed his sincere gratitude to the franchise and its fans. He reflected on his time with the team and said he is grateful for the memories and connections he made during his time with the Kings.

“I would like to announce that my time with the Karachi Kings has come to an end. “It has been a great experience playing for this incredible franchise and teammates,” Malik wrote.

Malik thanks Karachi Kings management

Malik, who has been a part of the PSL since its inception in 2016, thanked the Karachi Kings management, particularly the team’s owner Salman Iqbal, for their unwavering support.

“During my two stints with the team, Salman Iqbal and the management have been very helpful and supportive,” he added.

Joining the PSL Draft for the first time

What makes this announcement even more significant is Malik’s confirmation that he will be entering the PSL player draft for the first time.

“My best wishes to you guys. “I am looking forward to being part of the PSL Draft for the first time and having an exciting season ahead,” he concluded.

The move marks a new chapter in Malik’s PSL career, as he explores new opportunities to continue contributing to the league.

A PSL stalwart

Shoaib Malik has been a mainstay of the Pakistan Super League since the beginning. Over the years, he has represented three different franchises: Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans and Peshawar Zalmi.

With 2,336 runs in 91 games, Malik is currently the fourth highest run-scorer in PSL history. He has an impressive average of 33.37 and has proven to be a reliable middle-order batsman for his teams.

Apart from his batting prowess, Malik has shown his all-round skills by taking 17 wickets during his PSL career.
