Five Barcelona stars, including the ‘untouchable’ captain, arouse the interest of Saudi Arabia

Barcelona recently returned from their trip to Saudi Arabia, which turned out to be a huge success, as they won the first trophy of the Hansi Flick era, lifting the Spanish Super Cup by beating Real Madrid 5-2.

The trip also allowed Barça’s sporting director, Deco, to meet with club officials and agents from Saudi Arabia to take stock of the transfer market and gauge their interest in some Barcelona players.

After all, the blaugrana could be open to a sale or two this month to bring in Marcus Rashford from Manchester United. If not now, business can also be done in the summer, considering that the Saudi market is flush with cash.

Therefore, SPORT reports that up to five Barcelona stars are attracting interest from clubs in Saudi Arabia.

Some of these deals seem implausible, for example Raphinha is considered “untouchable” by Barcelona given his form and importance.

The sale of Lewandowski also seems unlikely, although Barça is aware that he could get a significant figure in the summer, despite the fact that he will turn 37.

However, the situation could be different for the other three players.

At the end of the day, Barcelona recognizes that the contractual situations of De Jong and Christensen (both with contracts until 2026) will need a resolution as soon as possible. Not renewing could generate sales.

In addition, the Catalans are also willing to part ways with Ansu Fati, whose contract extends until 2027, to alleviate the wage bill.

Deco has been actively working to put together the January puzzle, while also laying the foundations for the summer and deals with clubs in Saudi Arabia could be an avenue for Barcelona to explore further.
