FC Barcelona has the objective of signing the Manchester United winger. Marcus Rashford, who looks set to leave the Premier League club this month.
The 27-year-old has struggled under new coach Ruben Amorim and has been in and out of the team of late, and an exit now looks a very realistic possibility.
Alerted by the evolution, Barça has decided to bet on Rashford, to acquire his services on loan until the end of the season.
The return to the 1:1 spending rule and the temporary relief with the signings of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor have further emboldened the blaugrana to advance for the versatile forward.
Rashford attracted by Barcelona
On this basis, journalist Jordi Cardero reports that Marcus Rashford is attracted by the prospect of playing for Barcelona even though there are many other clubs chasing him.
In fact, teams such as AC Milan, Juventus, Borussia Dortmund and AS Monaco are vying to sign the 27-year-old Man United star, but interest from Barcelona appears to have caught their attention.
The Barça sports director, Deco, has identified the need for a left back to further strengthen the squad despite Raphinha’s good performance and leadership in the locker room.
The former Portuguese international believes that Rashford would fit perfectly. Talks between the club and the striker’s representatives are expected to intensify next week, following the conclusion of the Spanish Super Cup.
However, Barca’s ability to bring in Rashford will depend on revenue generation, with Ronald Araujo seen as a potential outbound transfer.
Once seen as a generational star for Manchester United and England, the 27-year-old’s value has dropped significantly over the past two seasons due to poor performances and off-field issues.
However, Rashford’s profile remains attractive to Barcelona, who already tried to sign him once back in 2018, both financially and in terms of football needs.
Given that the player is also intrigued by the idea of moving to Barca, a loan could materialise, provided the Catalan club frees up salary space.
