Marcus Rashford remains in a limbo state, after being exiled from the Manchester United team by Ruben Amorim manager.
Barcelona is interested in signing the 27 -year -old on loan, but is not in a position to make a movement until a player is sold, since he needs to release salary space.
With Ansu Fati not willing to leave and Andreas Christensen’s injury ruled out an exit, the chances of the passing movement seem thin, since there is not much time before the transfer window is closed.
Barcelona, Manchester United in negotiations
Now, Telegraph (H/T Sport), Barcelona and Manchester United have begun negotiations regarding Marcus Rashford’s loan, only five days before the closing of the transfer window.
The two clubs are in conversations about the player’s brother and agent, Dwaine Maynard, with the aim of reaching an agreement complicated by the high salary of the striker.
Manchester United wants to save Rashford wages, while Barcelona has made it clear that they can only cover up to 50 percent of what is owed to the player until June.
Currently, conversations revolve around a loan without buying option, and the main discussion point is the player’s salary. This is an effort to advance negotiations and avoid hurrying in the agreement in the last hours of the transfer window.
Barcelona is interested in Rashford, but at present, they do not have financial flexibility to bring it.
However, the possible exits of players from the Youth Academy to clubs in the Arab world and the possible transfer of former Mika Marmol star to Rome, with Barcelona with a 50 percent participation in the agreement, could release the necessary financial room .
Just one option
Rashford is clear about his desire to play for the Hansi Flick team and is not considering any other movement in this January transfer window.
Despite receiving a lucrative offer from Saudi Arabia, Rashford has firmly rejected any movement there.
His options are to join Barcelona or stay at Manchester United and try to rebuild his relationship with Amorim. There is the possibility that the rest of the season can pass at the bank, but it seems willing to run that risk.
The greatest uncertainty for both Rashford and the Red Devils is whether Barcelona can register the player before the transfer window closes on February 3.
