The journey towards whitewashing
The 3 ODI series between Pakistan and South Africa began in Paarl. Saim Ayub’s stellar 109 and Salman Ali Agha’s all-round performance in taking 4 wickets and 82 runs led Pakistan to chase 240 runs with three balls to spare.
In the Cape Town ODI, the Pakistan batsman scored a strong target of 330 for South Africa. Rizwan scored 80, Babar 73 and Kamran Ghulam 63 off 32 were the architects of the defensive objective. The bowling unit led by Shaheen Afridi and Naseem Shah restricted South Africa to 248. Shaheen’s 4 wickets and Naseem Shah’s 3 helped Pakistan achieve an 81-run victory.
