Barcelona hold talks with the Man United winger’s agent; face tough competition from European giants

Marcus Rashford’s future has been in the spotlight this month as the striker seeks an exit from Old Trafford.

The English striker has been excluded from the squad by new Man United manager Ruben Amorim. Therefore, he is interested in seeking a new challenge elsewhere.

Barcelona have become one of Rashford’s possible suitors, while club president Joan Laporta seeks to shore up the offensive unit.

Laporta achieved an important victory earlier in the week after the CSD granted a precautionary measure for the registration of summer signings Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor. Their next objective is to reinforce the Barça squad with at least one new signing.

The Blaugranas have not wasted any time when it comes to pursuing Rashford either.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the blaugrana are among the clubs that have held talks with the Englishman’s agents this week.

It appears the club are interested in signing the Man United frontman as a possible alternative to Robert Lewandowski, something the team lacks at the moment.

After an exceptional start to the season, the Pole’s form has declined in recent weeks, which has caused concern within the Barcelona ranks.

With Ansu Fati also failing to live up to expectations, it is the right time to bring in a versatile attacker like Rashford.

That said, Barcelona are not alone in the race to sign the Englishman. The striker has also been courted by clubs such as Como and AS Monaco, although Romano confirms that these clubs have not yet held talks with the player.

Borussia Dortmund, AC Milan and Juventus are other clubs interested in the services of Rashford, who is looking to take the next step in his career.

The three teams mentioned have also spoken with the Manchester United star’s agent and will provide tough competition for Barcelona.
