The mess in Catalonia has become real when La Liga and the RFEF rejected Barcelona’s proposal to register Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor for the second half of the season.
The message sent by the board so far this week was to remain calm since the club had everything under control.
After receiving the necessary investment last night and returning to the 1:1 rule after an eternity, Barcelona were confident that they would get those registrations. However, things have not gone as planned.
A misinterpreted rule
While Olmo and Víctor are still obsessed with playing for Barcelona and giving the club time to sort out the problem, they could well end up not registering and therefore must maintain their options.
If this were to happen, Olmo has the option to terminate his personal contract with Barcelona and leave as a free agent.
It was reported that such a development would be seen as a severe blow to Barcelona’s finances, as the club would have to pay Olmo his entire salary until the end of his contract.
Now, according to reports from Sports Worldthere is no such condition blaugrana will be forced to oblige.
In the event that Olmo leaves as a free agent, the blaugrana He has no right to pay the remainder of his salary until the end of his contract in 2030, as there is no such clause.
RB Leipzig, however, will deserve the entirety of Olmo’s transfer fee and Barcelona will generate an instant loss of €40 million that had to be amortized over five years.
As things stand, Joan Laporta and company are planning to take the legal route and push for Olmo’s addition, but the chances of any change look bleak with each passing day.
If nothing goes well, Olmo and Víctor will terminate their contracts 24 hours before the close of the winter transfer market on February 2.
