The arrival of Kylian Mbappé was widely celebrated in the Spanish capital as the beginning of a special forward dynasty at Real Madrid.
At mid-season, however, it is Barcelona’s offensive trident that is outperforming The Whites’ the first three and by quite a margin. In fact, Barcelona’s three forwards can boast of being considered the best in the world.

The best point of comparison to begin to understand the difference in performance between Barcelona and Real Madrid is the head-to-head confrontations in which Hansi Flick’s team has enjoyed a great advantage.
In the two games that the Spanish heavyweights have played against each other so far this season, Barcelona have scored nine goals, compared to two for Real Madrid.
Of them, Barcelona’s forward trio has scored eight goals, while The Whites We only have Kylian Mbappé and Rodrygo with a goal each and Vinicius Jr. shooting blanks last night.
Robert Lewandowski, Raphinha and Lamine Yamal scored all three in the two games against Real Madrid. The first time it was the Polish striker who scored a double and last night the Brazilian had the honor of scoring two goals.
Beyond head-to-head matchups, Barcelona’s dominance is only greatly amplified.
The Yamal-Lewandowski-Raphinha combination, after all, has scored 53 goals so far this season: the Polish striker has scored 26, the Brazilian 19 and the Spanish eight. In comparison, Real Madrid’s three forwards only have 38 goals.
As a team, Barcelona average just under three goals per game and have scored a staggering 83 goals in just 28 games so far and are the most potent attacking team in Europe, even ahead of Liverpool and Bayern Munich.
Curiously, there are also two Barcelona players who top the scoring charts in both La Liga and the UEFA Champions League: Lewandowski and Raphinha. In the Spanish Super Cup it was Raphinha and Yamal who shared the same honor.
