The Man United forward gives priority to Barcelona despite having many proposals

Marcus Rashford will leave Manchester United this month one way or another, having fallen out of favor with new manager Ruben Amorim.

There are several big clubs looking to sign him this month, and FC Barcelona are among them, looking to strengthen their attacking unit.

However, as reported today, the blaugrana Borussia Dortmund face tough competition in the race for the English striker.

Rashford prioritizes Barcelona

However, according to Miguel Rico, although Rashford has attracted interest from other clubs, he has made it clear that his priority is to play for Barcelona.

The 27-year-old’s versatility (able to play on the wing or as a central forward) makes him an ideal candidate for coach Hansi Flick’s system.

Despite his apparent quality, the forward has struggled to secure a regular place in the starting eleven with Amorim.

The England international, who is keen to join Barcelona, would be welcome at the club, provided they can make room under Financial Fair Play regulations by releasing players.

However, Barcelona’s interest in the 27-year-old Englishman is strictly on loan, with no intention of signing him permanently.

Barcelona, however, are aware of their financial limitations, and the €350,000 weekly salary that Rashford earns presents a significant challenge.

Such a high salary, unless reduced, would be difficult to justify for the Catalan club, especially considering that Rashford would not be a guaranteed starter but rather a back-up option for the first line which currently includes Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski and Raphinha.

While the move is still up in the air, Rashford’s future could depend on his desire to join Barcelona and the club’s ability to negotiate the terms of a loan deal.
