Barcelona is ready for a financial impulse in summer transfer windows, since recent sport reports indicate that the club could still earn more than 20 million euros of several sales of players and sales clauses.
This income comes from the strategic policy of the club to ensure percentages of the future sales of players, particularly those developed in its recognized academy La Masia.
During the last seasons, Barcelona has generated approximately 65 million euros from sales and percentages of players who, in many cases, did not even present a prominent place for the first team. This smart approach is now producing significant yields.
A remarkable example is the sale of Nico to Manchester City. Barcelona retained 20% of the capital gain of any future sale for the English club, along with the 3 million euros they previously received from Porto for their participation in the rights of the player.
This agreement has already noted the club € 13.3 million, which adds to € 8 million Porto paid in the summer of 2023.
Where can Barcelona Rope in income?
Additional funds come from the sales of Unai Hernández, Marc Guiu, Mikayil Faye and Julian Araujo. However, additional income is expected in future transfer windows.
For example, West Ham’s agreement with Nice for Jean-Clair Todibo includes a mandatory purchase clause that will give Barcelona 20% of the rate, worth around € 8 million.
Barcelona’s intelligent financial planning continues to bear fruit. They could have obtained additional funds in January when Oscar Mingueza was linked to Aston Villa, who was ready to pay about € 20 million.
Although the transfer did not materialize, the potential remains for a movement this summer, which would see Barcelona claim 50% of the rate.
There is much more
Other financial opportunities include the loan from Estanis Pedrola to Bologna, and the Italian side has a purchase option of 4 million euros. Barcelona retains 50% of any future sale.
Similarly, the Mika Marmol transfer agreement with UD Las Palmas allows Barcelona to claim half of a future sale, possibly producing around € 5 million.
Finally, Ilaix Moriba’s impressive season in Celta could cause additional profits for Barcelona. The club previously negotiated a 10% sales clause with Leipzig, who initially paid € 16 million plus 6 million in variables.
In total, Barcelona could see that more than 20 million euros flow to their coffers this summer, a testimony of financial strategies with a vision of the club and their ability to maximize the yields of the development of players and transfers.
