Raphinha attacks refereeing in La Liga: “If I say what I think, I will not play in La Liga again”

Raphinha was FC Barcelona’s hero again last night when he scored a sensational last-minute goal to lead his team to a 5-4 comeback win over Benfica in the UEFA Champions League.

The Brazilian had already scored a goal before, although it had little to do with him and more than anything luck, since a clearance by the Benfica goalkeeper bounced off his head and went into the back of the net.

Later, with the match at 4-4, the Barça captain calmly finished off a quick counterattack in the 96th minute to give his team the victory.

Raphinha’s brutal attack on La Liga referees

Moments after Barcelona’s incredible victory, Raphinha, who finished as the match’s MVP, shared his thoughts on the surreal Champions League encounter.

The Catalans came into the match after a controversial 1-1 draw against Getafe in La Liga, where they were denied a clear penalty for a foul on Jules Kounde.

Therefore, when Raphinha was asked if he preferred Spanish referees or Champions League referees, the winger brutally attacked La Liga refereeing, saying:

The Brazilian international then spoke about the match played at the Estadio Da Luz and the fight that Barcelona gave, saying:

“We knew it would be a very difficult game. I know how challenging it is to play here, in front of your fans. They know how to play very well and have very high level players. We did not let ourselves be discouraged by the 3-1 score at half-time.

“We returned focused on our game, trying to change the result. It was a spectacular match for everyone. Benfica could well have won, or we could have won, but we came out ahead.”

“I think I’m in the best moment of my career” Raphinha added after scoring his eighth goal in the Champions League this season.

In the tunnel fight

Furthermore, the Barcelona player commented on the fight that broke out at the end of the match with both the fans and the Benfica players, which required police intervention.

“I am a person who respects everyone. When I left the field there were people who insulted me. I insulted him back, I know I shouldn’t have done that. “We all got angry, but the Benfica players preferred to insult me.” Rafina revealed.

“I am a person who does not take anything home. I respect those who respect me, but I do not remain silent if they insult me. “It’s normal after a game that ends like this.” declared.
