In an interview with CNN Sports, Neymar spoke about the prospect of a possible reunion with Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez, as he has been linked with a move to Inter Miami.
“Obviously, playing with (Lionel) Messi and (Luis) Suárez again would be incredible.” he told CNN.
“They are my friends. We still talk to each other. It would be interesting to revive this trio. I am happy in Al Hilal, I am happy in Saudi Arabia, but who knows? Football is full of surprises..
“When it became known that he was leaving Paris Saint-Germain, the transfer window was closed in the United States, so he didn’t have that option.” he added.
Neymar’s iconic partnership with Messi and Suárez at Barcelona, affectionately known as ‘MSN’, is still considered one of the deadliest attacking combinations to ever appear on the pitch.
The three could meet at Inter Miami, where Messi and Suárez could continue for another year.
Neymar, for his part, has a contract with Al Hilal until the summer of 2025, after which he will be able to freely choose his next destination.
Neymar rates the Saudi League as better than Ligue 1
Cristiano Ronaldo has received huge criticism across the European football fraternity when he called the Saudi Arabian league a better league compared to Ligue 1.
However, Ronaldo has now received the backing of a fellow Saudi League player: Neymar.
Neymar explained why he believes Ligue 1 has become inferior compared to the Saudi Pro League, having played in both leagues.
“Today I think it is” said the Brazilian. “The level of the Saudi Pro League is increasing and from what I see, it is better than Ligue 1. Ligue 1 has its positive aspects. The league is very strong. I played on it, so I know it well.“
“Nowadays, the players in the Saudi Pro League are better. Saudi Arabia has surprised me in a positive way. The people, the country, the cities, the culture. I think it is a country that is constantly growing,”he added.
Neymar moved to Saudi Arabia in the summer of 2023 and joined Al Hilal. However, during his 18 months in the country so far, the striker has only been able to make seven competitive appearances.
On the contrary, the Brazilian had played 173 games in France for Paris Saint-Germain in six years.
