More drama – Several clubs threaten La Liga with legal action if Dani Olmo’s registration is accepted

Just as reports emerged that FC Barcelona were becoming more confident and optimistic about Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor’s registration in La Liga, more drama in the saga follows.

A while ago we reported that Barça was very clear that Olmo’s registration would supposedly approve the agreement for the sale of VIP seat packages at Spotify Camp Nou.

La Liga clubs take action

However, SPORT is now reporting that several La Liga clubs are threatening legal action against Javier Tebas and La Liga if they now accept Olmo’s registration.

While some advocate granting permission to allow the players to participate in upcoming matches, others push to maintain the current restrictions imposed on Barcelona by La Liga, which would prevent the duo from playing for the rest of the season.

It should be noted that teams such as Sevilla, Atlético de Madrid and Athletic Club influenced Olmo’s registration not to be accepted by La Liga after Barça closed a multi-million dollar agreement with Nike.

Now, several clubs maintain that Barça should not receive preferential treatment, setting a controversial precedent.

Several executives of La Liga clubs maintain that the blaugrana should not benefit from leniency, especially in light of precedents in which such flexibility was not extended to others.

These clubs are collaborating to file a lawsuit aimed at declaring the Spanish league competition invalid if La Liga changes its current stance on Barcelona registrations. Such a result could seriously damage the league’s reputation.

Deteriorating relations between Barcelona president Joan Laporta and other La Liga clubs have exacerbated the situation.

This gap, developed over time, has left the Catalans without a strong representative in Madrid to manage these relationships, a role that has been vacant since the departure of Mateu Alemany.

Some rival clubs see this moment as an opportunity to hold Barcelona accountable. They see the situation as the culmination of financial mismanagement at the club and are keen to act decisively to ensure the Catalan giants do not receive undue advantages.
