Manchester United superstar obsessed with playing for Barcelona: English sources

As Barcelona go through a difficult period in which they lost Dani Olmo due to injury, the club have been linked with several new players on the market.

One of them has been Marcus Rashford. The Man United striker is going through a difficult time under new manager Ruben Amorim, who appears to have left him out.

Rashford is therefore set to leave Man United in the current January transfer window, with Barcelona emerging as one of the potential destinations.

Rashford wants to play for Barcelona

Amid uncertainty over Rashford’s future, Talksport’s Alex Crook has offered an update on the saga.

Crook revealed that Rashford is interested in playing in Spain and, therefore, Barcelona has become one of his preferred destinations.

Crook, however, points out that Barcelona are in a precarious position and may not be able to register new players.

In the current circumstances, one would expect Barça to shift their focus on re-registering new signings Olmo and Pau Víctor.

The club is hoping for a positive update tomorrow, but at the moment nothing is certain. If Barcelona loses Olmo, there will be questions about management.

In this type of scenario, Barcelona are unlikely to consider making any new moves, especially for a player who hasn’t been at his best for a while.

In fact, Rashford’s progress has stagnated drastically in recent years: the Englishman scored just seven league goals last season and just four this season.

Not to mention, Rashford can also command a hefty salary and therefore the Man United star may have to significantly reduce his salary if he wants to be involved in a conversation with Barcelona.
