Laporta faces the reaction of the former presidential candidate of Barcelona for the Olmo issue: “It is intolerable”

The former candidate for the presidency of FC Barcelona Víctor Font has publicly asked Joan Laporta for transparency after the recent registration problems of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.

Font expressed concern about what he called serious problems related to the registration of these players in LaLiga, which he believes reflect poorly on the club.

According to Font, the situation has tarnished the reputation of one of the most prestigious football clubs in the world.

He strongly criticized the ‘lack of professionalism’ within the current management and asked for greater transparency, especially with regard to the sale of the Camp Nou VIP boxes.

He argued that it is essential that the club’s board give a clear explanation of its actions and define the strategy it intends to follow in the future.

“Given the seriousness of the events related to the discharges of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, and given the poor and inadequate image of the best club in the world, we share the concern of all Barça fans about the disastrous sporting, economic and institutional consequences. of this case,” he began to say.

Font’s statement focused on the possible consequences of these events, especially the threat of losing a player like Dani Olmo, who was signed just four months ago for 55 million euros.

He noted that the uncertainty surrounding Olmo’s registration, as well as Victor’s, is the result of poor planning and lack of professionalism.

“The result is the possible loss of a player that we signed four months ago for 55 million euros and that we now see may leave due to management full of improvisation and an absolute lack of professionalism.

“We hope that the situation of the two players can be resolved, but we consider it intolerable that the top leader of Barça acts in this way and gives this image.

“That is why we demand that the board and president Joan Laporta immediately give all the necessary explanations to detail what actions they have taken and what the consequences will be.” he added.

Questioning decisions

Font also raised specific questions about the club’s decision-making. He wants to know why the club proceeded to sign such a valuable player despite being aware of the financial limitations imposed by La Liga’s Fair Play rules.

“We want to know the reason for signing such a valuable player knowing that we were exceeding the rules of Fair Play if, as has been demonstrated, we did not have a plan to resolve the situation.

Furthermore, he questioned the club’s decision to take the matter to court, especially after court rulings indicated there was little chance of a positive outcome.

“We want to know the reason for going to court if we knew there was no way forward, as evidenced by the sentences issued by the judges.” argument.

he wants clarity

In addition, Font demanded clarity about the actions that the club plans to take to avoid the loss of these two players, as well as transparency about the sale of VIP seats at the Camp Nou.

“What actions is the club taking from now on to avoid the loss of Olmo and Pau Víctor?

“We want transparency in the sale of VIP seats at the Camp Nou.”

He concluded by expressing his hope that Barcelona will not lose a player in whom they invested heavily just a few months ago.

“We want to hope not to lose any player just four months after signing him for 55 million euros.” said.
