Atlético de Madrid, willing to offer between 8 and 10 million euros for the Barcelona defender, contacts began

After a slow start, things have improved for Barcelona loanee Clement Lenglet at Atletico Madrid, with the Frenchman emerging as one of their most impressive players in recent weeks.

Lenglet signed for Red and white on a one-season loan contract with no purchase option included in the agreement.

The former Sevilla player struggled to break into Diego Simeone’s team in the early parts of the season, but of late he has made the most of his opportunities and become a regular starter.

Therefore, Atlético de Madrid is now considering the possibility of signing Lenglet permanently in the summer.

Although Lenglet’s loan was not initially received with great enthusiasm by mattress makers The fans and the staff, their constant performance and their reliability at the back have conquered both the hierarchy and the club’s followers.

The Atlético de Madrid board has not yet made a formal offer, but their intention is to propose a transfer figure of between 8 and 10 million euros.

Lenglet himself is happy with the prospect of continuing his career at the Metropolitano, where so far he has played 13 games and has even scored a couple of goals.

For his part, Atlético’s president, Enrique Cerezo, in a recent interview with SPORT, expressed his satisfaction with Lenglet’s performances, stating: “We would love for him to stay with us.”

Recent reports had suggested that Barcelona would ask for a fee of around €15 million for Lenglet.

But considering that he still has two years left on his contract with a high salary, they would probably accept the €8-10 million that Atlético are offering to get rid of the 29-year-old permanently.
