Arsenal weigh a surprise offer of 75 million euros for Barcelona’s best defender

Despite the team’s recent crisis, Barcelona’s players have stood out this season under the leadership of new coach Hansi Flick.

Jules Kounde, in particular, has excelled on defense. Operating in an unnatural right-back position, the Frenchman has stepped up when necessary and has been a reliable presence in Barcelona’s defensive line.

Kounde’s performances have not gone unnoticed either and several European clubs are closely following his development.

Arsenal weigh the possibility of signing Kounde

In fact, Premier League giants Arsenal are even considering a new offer for Kounde, according to reports from Fichajes.

It seems that Kounde has become the main defensive target of manager Mikel Arteta, who is interested in strengthening his options in the defensive unit.

In accordance with Arteta’s wish, Arsenal are willing to pay 75 million euros for the services of the Barcelona defender.

Arsenal’s interest in Koundé comes hand in hand with his recent performances for Barcelona. But most importantly, the Frenchman brings speed and versatility, which could prove useful for Arteta.

Will Barcelona sanction Kounde’s departure?

Kounde’s potential move to Arsenal will depend on several factors, including when exactly the Gunners plan to submit a bid.

Recent reports suggest that Barcelona have decided not to sell new players next month, meaning a January move has already been ruled out.

As far as the summer transfer window is concerned, Barcelona could be tempted to sell Kounde considering the €75 million entry, which could go a long way towards balancing the club’s balance sheet.

For now, however, both sides will wait out the season and see if Kounde can continue his excellent performances in La Liga and the Champions League.
