Virat Kohli’s heated confrontation with Australian fans after his dismissal

Indian cricket star Virat Kohli’s fiery attitude was on full display during the fourth Border-Gavaskar Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG). After coming out on Day 2, Kohli’s frustration was visible when he had a tense moment with some Australian fans, adding more drama to the already intense match.

Virat Kohli faces boos from Australian fans

The incident occurred while Kohli was walking back to the pavilion after being dismissed for 36. A group of Australian fans began booing him and hurling comments at him. She was clearly trying to provoke him. Kohli stopped, turned around and gave them a cold look before a security guard intervened and led him away. That was classic Kohli attitude, his no-nonsense attitude when provoked.

Australian fans are known for being loud, but their treatment of Kohli has raised eyebrows. The Australian media has attracted fans, leading them to chase Kohli. Former Indian captain Sunil Gavaskar even compared his antics to acting as Australia’s “12th man”, suggesting it is all part of a plan to get under India’s skin.

This has generated controversy on social networks. Fans from both nations find themselves involved in altercations, trying to defend their positions.

India in trouble after day 2

Off-field drama wasn’t the only thing that plagued India. On the field, things fell apart at the end of the day. India, chasing a massive total of 474 runs, were reduced to 164/5 at stumps. Kohli’s dismissal proved to be a turning point as India’s middle-order struggled to stabilize the innings.

Yashasvi Jaiswal looked solid with a well-made 82. However, a mix-up with Kohli led to him being left out, initiating a collapse. In just 40 minutes, India lost three quick wickets in just 11 runs. India is still 310 runs behind Australia’s score. They need 111 runs to avoid the ‘Follow-Up’ on day 3, with just 5 wickets in hand.
