Video – Laporta chats privately with Raphinha after the Barcelona star’s comments on the subject of registration

Earlier today, FC Barcelona winger and one of the team’s captains, Raphinha, spoke to the media ahead of the Spanish Super Cup semi-final match against Athletic Club on Wednesday.

During their interaction at the press conference, there was a lot of talk about the failed signings of Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.

At one point, Raphinha was asked if the whole registration fiasco could affect Barça’s future transfer efforts and make players reconsider joining the club, to which he gave an honest answer saying:

“I don’t like lying. I think it can affect the future. If I were in another club maybe I would think about it. But when I came here, before signing I knew the situation of the club and I waited to be able to come here and I don’t regret anything.”

Laporta talks to Raphinha

Shortly after the press conference, a video emerged in which Barcelona president Joan Laporta can be seen speaking privately with Raphinha just before the Catalans began training for tomorrow’s match.

The talk lasted for about a minute and although it is not clear what was said, there is a good chance that the Brazilian’s statements during the press conference were discussed.

Laporta has yet to personally address the media amid all the controversy. There has been intense pressure on him, with opposition groups even calling for his resignation.

Regarding the registrations of Olmo and Víctor, Barcelona has presented its appeal requesting an urgent precautionary measure from the Higher Sports Council (CSD) to allow the couple to play again.

If the CSD does not rule in favor of Barça, the club plans to take the matter to ordinary justice as a last resort.
