As the hours go by, FC Barcelona has not yet received approval from La Liga for Dani Olmo to remain registered as a Barcelona player.
Some within the club trust that Olmo will continue to appear as a Barça player and that “everything will be clear once the situation is definitively resolved.”
At the same time, however, confusion is growing in other sectors of the club and uncertainty about the success of the operation increases, reports Ferran Correas of SPORT.
At midnight, coinciding with the turn of the year, the deadline to resolve the registration issues of Olmo and Pau Víctor will expire.
Barcelona has already exhausted legal avenues, with both the Commercial Court and the Court of First Instance refusing to grant a precautionary measure to keep Olmo’s license active.
Next, the Catalans activated Plan C, which consisted of the sale of a package of VIP seats at Spotify Camp Nou for around 100 million euros.
Barcelona submitted all the required documentation to La Liga several days ago, but approval by the league has been delayed longer than expected.
The La Liga Delegate Commission is thoroughly reviewing the contracts, while at Barça there are concerns about the process.
From LaLiga’s perspective, approving a contract like the one presented by Barcelona is not easy. The club must also provide payment guarantees, and the contract must be reviewed not only by the Delegate Commission but also by an auditor.
This additional scrutiny is causing delays, increasing nerves and further increasing uncertainty.
At the moment, both the club and LaLiga continue working to achieve a positive resolution, with the aim of Olmo continuing to be a Barcelona player as of January 1.
Otherwise, the 26-year-old could leave Barça as a free agent, as stipulated in a special clause in his contract.
