The RFEF is studying opening a disciplinary file against the president of Barcelona: report

In what has been an intensely scrutinized week for FC Barcelona, club president Joan Laporta has found himself at the center of another controversy.

This time, the problem arises from his behavior during the semi-final match at the King Abdoullah Stadium in Jeddah, where Barcelona secured their place in the Spanish Super Cup final.

It was there that Laporta made a kind of public statement, dedicating a shout-out to his critics after the decision of the Higher Sports Council to allow the re-registration of players Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor in the club.

The incident was captured by Televisió de Catalunya cameras, showing Laporta visibly agitated in the VIP area of the Saudi stadium.

The RFEF studies acting against Laporta

According to Diario SPORT, his performance has not gone down well with the RFEF, which is now considering opening a disciplinary file against him.

The Federation, under the new leadership of Rafael Louzan, has been cautious in its public statements regarding the registrations of Olmo and Víctor but has not hesitated to address Laporta’s conduct.

Laporta’s actions were interpreted by many as a direct response to the criticism and challenges he has faced, particularly in light of the registration issues surrounding two of his key players.

Their determination to defend the rights of Olmo and Víctor paid off, allowing them to play in the next Super Cup final.

However, this victory on the field of play could have consequences off the field as the RFEF deliberates on the appropriateness of Laporta’s behavior during the match.

Laporta, for his part, is unlikely to be intimidated by any disciplinary measures and is likely to continue the fight against the authorities.
