During Barcelona’s Super Cup match against Athletic Club, the club’s president, Joan Laporta, made headlines for his explosive reaction to the news about the precautionary measure granted to Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.
Tension broke out when it was revealed that the two players had not been authorized to register.
According to El Larguero, Laporta lost his temper insulting members of the Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF).
He reportedly called them “scoundrels”, “cowards”and “scared” for not allowing player registration. These words were addressed to officials of the RFEF Board of Directors.
He didn’t stop there.
Laporta’s outburst did not stop there. He also allegedly used strong language to insult those present in the area reserved for officials, calling them “sons of bitches.”
While some witnesses confirmed hearing these insults, not all journalists present were able to verify the exact words. However, it was clear from the atmosphere in the box that tensions were high.
The attendees pointed out that although there were no screams, the situation was marked by a “disrespect” and “very bad manners” further intensifying the already charged atmosphere.

The altercation escalated when Laporta clashed with the presidents of the RFEF territorial committees.
According to those present, the Barcelona president was visibly enraged and pointed at the committee members, accusing them of blocking Olmo and Víctor’s registration. “It was you” Laporta said while pointing at the officials.
As the situation heated up, members of the RFEF left the box in response to Laporta’s accusations.
Reports also revealed that some territorial committee presidents expressed understanding for Laporta’s anger, acknowledging that he was right in his frustrations.
private conversation
In another exchange, Laporta had a private conversation with Rafael Louzán, president of the RFEF, where he apparently made his feelings clear. “Tell them four things clearly to their face.”
The tension was palpable throughout the evening, and Laporta even made gestures of frustration, such as kicking and punching the box seats when the measure was confirmed for the players.
Dani Olmo, who was present at the time, witnessed the explosion firsthand.
