Barcelona faces a complicated situation with Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor, as both players continue with their training routines but are still not registered for official matches.
It has now been five days since the registration problems began, and matters took a serious turn on Saturday when LaLiga and the RFEF jointly announced that players could not be registered.
Now, according to MARCA, the club has only 48 more critical hours left to find a solution. Unfortunately, due to the Three Kings’ holiday, the club cannot present its documentation to the CSD until Tuesday, which would be the next business day.
Olmo and Víctor still cannot play
Despite the administrative delays, both players are expected to travel with the team to Saudi Arabia to play in the Spanish Super Cup.
However, his participation in the contest remains uncertain. Barcelona will face Athletic Club on Wednesday and if they advance, the final will take place on Sunday.
A quick decision by the CSD could allow players to participate in the semi-final, but the tight deadlines mean this is far from guaranteed.
Curiously, despite everything Barcelona has done, LaLiga and the RFEF have based their refusal on article 130.2, which prevents players whose licenses have been canceled from obtaining a new one with the same club during the season.
So what’s next?
Now, if the CSD does not rule in favor of Barcelona, the club could have to resort to the ordinary courts as a last resort.
This is a scenario that the Blaugrana hope to avoid, as they remain optimistic about a favorable outcome.
The president of the club, Joan Laporta, trusts that the Higher Sports Council will grant the precautionary measure that allows both players to be registered and be able to compete.
The situation highlights the current challenges Barcelona face in navigating regulatory hurdles, with the fate of Olmo and Víctor hanging in the balance as the team prepares for an important week ahead.
