Barcelona’s continued registration problems with Dani Olmo have caught the attention of Paris Saint-Germain, which is now considering signing the Spanish player.
According to a report from SPORT, the French club is closely monitoring the situation as Barcelona face significant obstacles in registering Olmo and his teammate Pau Victor.
Barcelona recently suffered a setback when a judge at Barcelona’s Commercial Court number 10 rejected the precautionary measure that would have allowed the club to register Olmo and Víctor.
Although the club intends to appeal this decision and explore all legal avenues, time is running out and the chances of a favorable resolution are increasingly slim.
The uncertainty surrounding Olmo’s discharge has not gone unnoticed and PSG has shown interest in the situation.
PSG’s interest
Gregory Paisley, former footballer, spoke about Olmo’s possible fit with PSG in a recent RMC talk show. He suggested that Olmo would adapt well to PSG’s style of play, particularly under Luis Enrique.
Although PSG are yet to make an official move, there is growing speculation that the French club could take advantage of this opportunity if Barcelona’s registration problems persist.
It should be noted that Olmo was a crucial player for Spain under Luis Enrique, especially during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
He was a regular starter and played all 90 minutes in Spain’s matches against Costa Rica, Germany, Japan and Morocco. His performances during the tournament have only increased his profile, making him a desirable target for PSG.
Barcelona does not give up
Despite these challenges, Barcelona is not giving up on Olmo and is exploring alternatives to resolve the problem.
One of the club’s plans is to activate a new economic lever with the sale of VIP seats in the future Spotify Camp Nou.
This sale to a Qatari company is expected to generate 120 million euros, which will be used to ensure the registration of players like Olmo.
Barcelona remains determined to overcome these financial difficulties, but the situation remains uncertain as PSG watches closely from afar.
