Official: Barcelona fails to register Dani Olmo; The player can now leave as a free agent.

Barcelona’s current registration issue with Dani Olmo has become a matter of great concern. Despite their efforts, the club has not yet been able to register Olmo on time, pending further confirmation.

This fact raises doubts about its future. As things stand, Olmo could choose to activate a clause in his contract that allows him to leave as a free agent. However, everything indicates that he has no plans to exercise this option for now.

The situation around Olmo was expected to reach a resolution by January 31, but there has been no progress. The circumstances remain the same as days ago.

However, Barcelona remains optimistic that Olmo will eventually register in La Liga and contribute to the team during the second half of the season.

Club representatives have hinted that more clarity on the matter will be given on January 3.

What’s new with Olmo?

Barcelona has faced legal setbacks in its attempts to resolve the issue, prompting them to explore alternative strategies.

One of those measures involved obtaining €100 million from a Qatari fund by transferring the rights to operate VIP seating packages at Spotify Camp Nou for 20 years.

While the deal between both parties is reportedly already closed, its implementation required approval from La Liga. Unfortunately, no resolution has yet been reached.

Is there anything else?

The club has taken a proactive step by requesting new licenses for both Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor through the Spanish Football Federation.

Barcelona has also clarified in a statement that no other governing body has granted any extension to facilitate the registration process.

Although the club temporarily concludes the matter for now, they recognize that it is not completely resolved.

All eyes are now on January 3, when Barcelona are expected to provide further updates and details on the situation. For now, uncertainty continues to loom over Olmo’s situation at the club.
