Nitish Reddy’s emotional family moment after MCG century

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s maiden Test century at the iconic MCG was already a career-defining moment. But what came after his heroic strike was something even more special. The BCCI shared an emotional video capturing Nitish reuniting with his family, a moment that showcased the power of cricket to move hearts.

Nitish Kumar Reddy’s emotional moment with family

In the video, Nitish’s mother could not hold back her tears as she hugged her son. His father, Mutayala Reddy, hugged him tightly and pride was evident in his eyes. Nitish’s sister was beaming with joy and her admiration for her brother shone. These were not just celebrations; They were years of sacrifices that finally paid off.

Mutayala Reddy, who left his job at Hindustan Zinc in 2016 to support Nitish’s cricket dreams, shared his emotions. “Nitish played very well today. I am very proud. We have fought hard. We are grateful to the Indian team,” he said, his voice shaking with pride. Nitish’s sister added, “It was not an easy journey for him. We are very proud and very happy. “He said it and he did it.”

Struggles behind Nitish’s milestones

Nitish has often spoken about his father’s sacrifices and attributes his success to him.

“My father left his job for me. There were sleepless nights and financial struggles, but he was always by my side. When I saw him crying once, I decided I had to work harder to make him proud,” Nitish revealed in the BCCI video. . His words, filled with gratitude, echoed the emotions of countless aspiring cricketers who have the unwavering support of their families.

Nitish’s journey to his century was not without drama. In ’97, he survived a tense LBW appeal from Scott Boland, leaving the MCG crowd holding their breath. Moments later, he beautifully powered Boland’s delivery across the line, adding his century off 171 balls. The stadium erupted in applause. His father’s face in the stands reflected a mix of pride, relief and overwhelming emotion.
