Andreas Christensen has returned to training with the rest of the FC Barcelona squad after recovering from his Achilles tendinopathy that forced him to undergo surgery.
Having been out of action since late August, the Danish centre-back is set to be at manager Hansi Flick’s disposal in the new year.
However, there has been some uncertainty over Christensen’s future heading into 2025 due to the blaugrana persecution of Jonathan Tah.
It has been suggested that the former Chelsea player could be one of the players who could be transferred next summer to free up space for the German. But it appears Christensen is attracting suitors for January.
Juventus and Manchester United look at Christensen
In fact, according to reports in Italy, broadcast by Sports WorldBoth Manchester United and, more notably, Juventus have shown strong interest in securing Christensen’s services, potentially as early as January.
Juve, in particular, view the Barcelona defender as a key winter target and are weighing up a loan deal for him in light of long-term injuries to Gleison Bremer and Juan Cabal.
He bianconeros Manager Thiago Motta is interested in strengthening his defense and is reportedly interested in signing Christensen or his Barcelona teammate Ronald Araujo.
However, the Catalans have made it clear that Araujo is not available, despite the fact that his contract ends in 2026, like Christensen’s.
Christensen does not think about a way out
Despite the endless speculation about his future, Christensen has made it very clear that he is not thinking about leaving Barcelona and that he also sees himself at the club next season.
Addressing the rumors in an interview last month, the Danish international said: “You can’t do anything but smile when you find out about this.
“I can only speak about the conversations I have had with the club and so far they have only told me that I recover well and that they are looking forward to my return.”
“Will I stay at Barcelona? Yes of course,” Christensen added.
