It is unlikely that Barcelona’s request to the RFEF for new licenses for Olmo and Víctor will be accepted

According to MARCA, Barcelona’s request to the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for new signings for both Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor has little chance of succeeding.

After failing to register both players in time on December 31, Barça has seen La Liga remove the names of both players from the official squad list.

While La Liga continues to review the documents for the sale of the VIP packages of the Catalans’ VIP box at Spotify Camp Nou, they requested new licenses for Olmo and Víctor before the RFEF, as confirmed last night in the club’s official statement.

“FC Barcelona informs that it has requested a new license from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) for the players Daniel Olmo and Pau Victor.” the statement said.

However, the application is unlikely to be approved based on the aforementioned report.

The request is unfounded as it is based on past and outdated circumstances that have little relevance to the current regulatory framework.

The Catalan club faces a desperate situation as it seeks a solution to the problem that has placed it under the spotlight of world football.

On the one hand, there is the change in dynamics and relationship between the RFEF and LaLiga, and on the other, the question of what the regulations really stipulate.

Article 141, point 5 of the General Regulations of the Spanish Football Federation establishes: “Players whose licenses are canceled cannot, within the same season, obtain a license for the same team to which they were previously linked.”

Meanwhile, representatives of a player who is keen to sign for Barcelona but is currently unable to do so have been approached by several teams. Although the club insists that the situation will be resolved before the end of the week, it remains a complex issue.
