Franck Kessie reunites with his former Barcelona teammates before the Super Cup final: “I hope we win”

A day before Barcelona’s Spanish Super Cup grand final against Real Madrid, former midfielder Franck Kessie came to camp to meet some of his old teammates.

Kessie, who currently plies his trade at Al Ahli, surprised some of the Barcelona players by turning up during training.

Now, the former AC Milan midfielder has opened up about his reunion with his former teammates while supporting Barcelona to win the Super Cup tonight.

Kessie on his meeting with former Barcelona teammates

“It was fun. After a year and a half or two, I see my colleagues again. It was fun for me and I’m happy. “I’m going to support them and I hope we win.” Said Kessie (c/t Barça One).

Speaking from his own experience playing the ClassicKessie remembered one of the goals he scored in the past.

Kessie played for Barcelona for only one season. He joined the club in the summer of 2022 on a free transfer, but after an indifferent debut campaign, he had to settle for a move elsewhere.

The midfielder eventually joined Al Ahli in 2023 for a fee of around €12.5 million. Since then, he has participated in more than 50 competitive matches for the Saudi Arabian team.

Speaking of Saudi Arabia, Kessie claimed that the Middle Eastern nation is a lucky charm for Barcelona as he backed his former club to win the cup tonight.

“I hope we can win the Super Cup again, like we did two years ago. “Saudi Arabia brings luck to Barcelona, ​​so I hope Barça wins again in this match against Real Madrid.” concluded the midfielder.
