The wait is finally over! The third season of SA20 2025 will begin on January 9, with defending champions Sunrisers Eastern Cape taking on MI Cape Town at St George’s Park in Gqeberha. Buckle up for a month of non-stop cricket with some of T20’s biggest stars.
SA20 2025 format
Guys like Kane Williamson, Rashid Khan, Liam Livingstone and Moeen Ali are all set to light up the tournament. SA20 2025 features six teams that will face each other in 30 league matches, with each team facing the others twice. After that, it’s time for the playoffs!
Like the IPL, SA20 2025 will have Qualifier 1, a Playoff and Qualifier 2 before the grand final on February 8 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg.
The Sunrisers Eastern Cape have already won two titles and are aiming for a third this season. Your first challenge? MY Cape Town in the first match. But it won’t be a walk in the park. The other teams are excited to stop them.
MI Cape Town, led by Rashid Khan, have not had the best of times so far, finishing last in both seasons. But they are back with a new approach and they will want to prove something. However, they will miss England’s Ben Stokes, who is out with a hamstring injury.
SA20 2025 Headquarters
The matches will be spread across six venues: Durban, Paarl, Gqeberha, Johannesburg, Centurion and Cape Town. Each team will play on all of these fields, meaning fans across South Africa will have the opportunity to watch the action live.
The final is scheduled for February 8 at the Wanderers Stadium in Johannesburg. It is the perfect place to conclude what promises to be a great tournament.
