Barcelona transfer obstacles linked to local player: report

SPORT’s latest reports have highlighted the challenges Barcelona face regarding Ansu Fati’s situation at the club.

The outlet mentions that while the young forward’s future remains uncertain, his current contract is proving to be a major obstacle for Barcelona for several reasons.

This is because it not only limits the club’s ability to strengthen the team, but also deters other clubs from pursuing the player.

Barcelona is in trouble

It should be noted that Ansu has a contract with Barcelona until 2027 and is among the team’s highest earners.

This significant salary has become a cause for concern for the club, especially as his recurring injuries have prevented him from consistently performing at a level that would justify his salary.

The financial strain is even more evident given Barcelona’s tight salary cap, which has made it difficult for them to register players like Dani Olmo or Pau Víctor under normal conditions.

The club’s management is especially concerned about the impact of his salary on its future plans. While they are bound by their contract, that restricts their ability to make more signings.

Nobody wants to share their salary.

Furthermore, the high salary package has deterred several interested clubs from pursuing Ansu.

Although there has been some interest in the player, potential suitors are often put off when they learn of his current earnings.

Barcelona would ideally like to sell Ansu to free up space on their wage bill and generate funds.

However, the club recognizes that this is currently a challenging task due to the various complications surrounding the player.

As a result, the focus was on helping him regain his best form on the field. The belief is that improving his performance will not only restore his value in football terms but will also make him a more attractive prospect in the transfer market.
