A timely boost of 10 million euros for Barcelona?

According to SPORT, Aston Villa are very interested in signing Mingueza and are willing to pay his release clause of 20 million euros.

Villans sporting director Monchi has already made progress in negotiations, with manager Unai Emery eager to add the former Barcelona star to the squad for the second half of the season.

When Mingueza moved to Celta, Barça included a clause that gave him the right to 50% of any future sale, a condition that the Galician club accepted.

As such, if Aston Villa proceed with the €20m deal for the Spaniard this month, Barcelona would receive €10m, a timely financial boost to their winter transfer plans.

Once again operating under La Liga’s 1:1 spending rule this month, Barcelona could reinvest the entire €10 million from the Mingueza sale directly into acquiring a new player.

This income could be essential to secure Marcus Rashford, whom Manchester United is willing to loan for six months.

The English forward’s salary for this period would amount to 3 million euros net, a feasible amount for Barça taking into account the possible funds from the sale of Mingueza.

Rashford is said to prefer a transfer to Barcelona despite having other suitors and Mingueza’s potential move to Aston Villa could spark a chain reaction leading to the Manchester United man arriving in Catalonia.
