FC Barcelona is planning a new and exciting project aimed at improving the comfort of its first team players.
According to SPORT, the club will build an exclusive residence for the players at its Sant Joan Despí training ground.
The media mentions that the project has already been approved and its execution is expected to begin as soon as the necessary budget is available.
The initial budget of the residence is estimated at 6 million euros. However, the club wants this investment not to weigh on its finances.
Instead, they intend to finance construction through sponsorship deals. Compared to the enormous financial commitment required for the remodeling of Espai Barça, this initiative represents a relatively modest expense.
What is the purpose of this?
The main objective of this residence is to provide a convenient resting place for players, especially after returning from late night or early morning matches.
Instead of driving home immediately after arriving at the sports city, players will have the option of spending the night at the residence.
This arrangement is expected to save them valuable time and ensure better recovery, as players typically have training sessions scheduled for the next day. By staying overnight, they can maximize rest and minimize unnecessary travel.
In addition, the residence will also serve as a meeting point for the players before the matches held in Barcelona.
This eliminates the need to book hotels for pre-match preparations, reducing logistical challenges and costs. Additionally, players are likely to feel more comfortable in a familiar environment, which could positively affect their overall performance and morale.
Comfort is the key.
The building will be built in the area currently occupied by field number two, which is the closest to the one named after Tito Vilanova, where the first team under Hansi Flick usually trains.
The planned residence will include bedrooms, a dining room and meeting rooms. It is also planned to accommodate other teams within the club, such as the women’s team, when necessary.
However, club sources have clarified that although the project is a priority, there is no specific timetable for its completion, pending final budget allocations and sponsorship agreements.
