Barcelona midfielder superstar describes his Super Cup ambitions: ‘He will give the team a lot of confidence’

Barcelona will be looking for a place in the Spanish Super Cup final when they face Athletic Club on Wednesday.

This match in Saudi Arabia will mark the first of two semi-finals, with Real Madrid taking on Mallorca in the other match.

Barcelona comes into the match after a formidable 4-0 victory over Barbastro in the Copa del Rey. But things could get much more complicated against a top-level team like Athletic.

Pedri speaks before the clash with Athletic Club

Speaking to the Club media before this match, Barcelona midfielder Pedri spoke about the possibility of winning the Spanish Super Cup.

The young man also spoke about Athletic Club, which has always been a formidable rival for Barça.

But first, talking about the Spanish Super Cup, Pedri said: “Winning the Super Cup is a very nice title, it comes in the middle of the season and I think it will give the team a lot of confidence, which is very important to continue competing in the next games.”

Remembering the last victory, Pedri said: “I remember the last final very well, especially because I scored a goal, and I also remember Gavi’s great performance, it was incredible.

“I had a lot of fun on the field and also during the celebrations after the game.” he added.

Pedri also spoke about Athletic Club, which is on Barcelona’s neck in the LaLiga standings.

“Athletic Club has a strong team with great players, so it will be a complicated match. It is true that we beat them this season and we intend to do it again, but this time it will be a completely different game from the ones we have played before.” said.

Athletic Club currently occupies fourth position in the league standings, just two behind Barcelona.

With one of the strongest defenses in La Liga, it will be interesting to see how the Basque team plans to neutralize Pedri’s influence in the middle of the park this week.
