Barcelona concerned about star striker’s performances: report

Barcelona’s recent defeat to Atlético Madrid highlighted the many problems facing the club after an exuberant start to the new season.

One of the key takeaways from the defeat was the rather poor performance from star striker Robert Lewandowski, who missed a few opportunities and simply didn’t have as much of an impact as one would expect.

Barcelona concerned about Lewandowski’s performances

In light of the defeat against Atlético, a report from Diario SPORT has offered information on how Barcelona evaluates the defeat.

Curiously, it seems that Barça are increasingly concerned about Lewandowski’s decline in form, especially when the team is playing without the services of Lamine Yamal.

To put things into perspective, the former Bayern striker has only scored two goals in the last seven games he has played this season.

This is a worrying sign for Barça, especially considering that the club is about to renew the forward’s contract until 2026.

Although both Hansi Flick and the board have immense faith in Lewandowski, the striker’s poor form is worrying as there are no real alternatives available in the team.

Fortunately, the Pole has time to reflect on his latest performances, as Barça do not play until January 4, when they face Barbastro in the Copa del Rey.

During this period, the onus will be on the veteran forward to not only regain his best form but also lead the attack with more precision.
