Barcelona are upset with Araujo’s agents and believe the player was not informed of the renewal offers.

The Barcelona scene is currently dominated by headlines surrounding the future of captain and key defender Ronald Araujo.

The 25-year-old Uruguayan centre-back’s contract expires in the summer of 2026 and, without substantial progress in renewal talks, talk of an exit has become widespread.

Araujo, for his part, is understood to be inclined towards an exit as he is dissatisfied with the renewal offers presented by Barça as well as his reduced role in the team.

But, as the club’s president, Joan Laporta, made clear today, the Catalans’ intention is to keep Araujo despite the great interest of Juventus.

Barcelona angry with Araujo’s agents

In the midst of all this, journalist Fernando Polo (via Jijantes FC) has provided shocking information about the renewal negotiations between Barcelona and Araujo’s team.

According to the journalist, Barcelona is very upset with Araujo’s representatives because they believe that the defender was not adequately informed about the renewal offers and other matters dealt with by the club’s sporting director, Deco.

In fact, the blaugrana They believe that the Uruguayan’s representatives hid key information about the offers that the club had presented, something they learned from a close collaborator in Uruguay.

As a result, Araujo lacked all the necessary information, which made him believe that Barcelona did not value him and was not interested in retaining him.

The update further adds that it was Barça president Laporta himself who warned the defender about the situation, informing him that the club had been sending him offers that reflected his status within the team and telling him to be careful with those around him.

Only those familiar with the situation will know how true this is, but this is not the first time reports have emerged that Barcelona are concerned that Araujo’s agents are behind his desire to leave.

With key meetings scheduled between the club and player in the coming days, it remains to be seen what kind of resolution they reach.
