Barcelona add €50m Bundesliga forward to transfer wishlist: report

As has already been reported, FC Barcelona intends to sign a top-level striker in the near future and has identified several possible options for the position.

Although Robert Lewandowski has scored 26 goals this season, the veteran will turn 37 next year and therefore, the blaugrana We intend to have a superior alternative ready to take over from the Polish one.

Names like Viktor Gyokeres and Erling Haaland have been touted as the preferred options for Barcelona.

More recently, Newcastle United’s Alexander Isak was also said to be a player the Catalan giants greatly admired. Now it appears another name has been added to the list.

In fact, according to SER, RB Leipzig and Slovenia center forward Benjamin Sesko is also on the list of forwards that Barcelona likes as options to reinforce their attack.

Sesko, 21, has been a top player for the Bundesliga club since joining them in 2023, scoring 30 goals in 66 appearances, 12 of those goals coming this season.

The Slovenian international has a physical presence at the top while boasting ferocious pace and has proven to be a prolific goalscorer in his blossoming career, as well as being an expert in combination play.

At 21 years old, Sesko has a very bright future ahead of him in the game and several top clubs are following him, and now Barcelona are also joining the hunt.

The young striker, however, has a contract with RB Leipzig until the summer of 2029 and the Bundesliga giants have proven to be tough negotiators.

Barcelona reached a favorable agreement with Leipzig last summer for the signing of Dani Olmo and it will be interesting to see if they knock on the German club’s doors again this summer.
