12 G/A Serie A forward favors Barcelona transfer in summer: report

At this point it is already clear that FC Barcelona will be looking for a top left winger in the summer transfer window.

One of the main objectives of the blaugrana To reinforce the position there happens to be the AC Milan and Portugal striker Rafael Leao.

The 25-year-old was also on Barca’s radar over the summer, and a possibility was explored after the Nico Williams deal fell through, but nothing came of it.

Looking ahead to 2025, however, the Catalans may have received a big boost in their pursuit of the Portuguese international.

Leao leans towards leaving, would favor Barcelona

In fact, according to TransfersLeao is leaning towards an exit from AC Milan in the summer of 2025 and would be in favor of a transfer to Barcelona if he eventually leaves.

The forward’s tense relationship with coach Paulo Fonseca, marked by recent tensions, has fueled rumors about his departure, with Barça being very alert to the situation.

Leao has hinted at his desire to face a new challenge. Although he has been a key figure at Milan in recent seasons, the deterioration of his relationship with Fonseca and the opportunity to join a project like Barcelona are very attractive to him.

The Barça sports management is closely monitoring the situation, aware that the current context could allow them to negotiate a transfer for a lower price than usual.

In the Barça environment, the possibility of acquiring a player of Leao’s quality is seen as a unique opportunity. His ability to take on defenders in one-on-one situations and his ability to make a difference in attack align perfectly with his philosophy.

Furthermore, the situation in Milan, where the forward does not feel fully supported by his coach, could make an agreement more feasible that, in other circumstances, would be almost unattainable for Barcelona.
