Marcus Rashford has been a name linked to Barcelona for some time, but as the winter transfer window approaches, it seems increasingly likely that the Manchester United striker joins the club.
Now, according to Mundo Deportivo, while Rashford is still an option for summer, Barcelona do not prioritize its signature.
Instead, they are more interested in players such as Luis Díaz de Liverpool, Rafael Leao de AC Milan and Alexander Isak of Newcastle.
Rashford’s option is escaping
With only a few remaining days in the transfers market, the chances of Rashford arriving in Barcelona this winter seem almost impossible.
Despite the player’s desire to play for Barcelona under the manager Hansi Flick, it seems that his movement will not happen in this window. The sources within the club suggest that a loan agreement for the 27 -year -old striker is not a realistic option at this time.
One of the factors that complicate the movement is the inability of Barcelona to release the necessary salary space.
The club had expected players such as Ansu Fati, Eric García and Andreas Christensen, generating funds and allowing the arrival of new signings.
However, none of these players have gone, and without the necessary adjustments to their salary bill, Barcelona cannot make the movement for Rashford, unless something changes in the last days of the window.
The other options
However, despite this setback, Barcelona has still been impressive in the attack this season, scoring many goals.
While Rashford could contribute additional depth and variety to the front line, particularly an Ansu not being part of Hansi Flick’s plans at this time, the club has other priorities.
Instead of Rashford, Barcelona is focusing its attention on other goals, with players such as Díaz, Leao and Isak being seen as more viable options for future club plans.
While Diaz and Leao’s tastes are rightful, Isak’s ability to play as a front center would be a great advantage for the team.
