The Dutch legend urges the Barcelona captain to leave: “It’s time to look for something else”

Barcelona triumphed in the Spanish Super Cup final over Real Madrid on Sunday night in convincing fashion, owing Carlo Ancelotti’s team all over the field.

In the center of the field, it was Pedri, Gavi and Marc Casado who did the damage to the blaugrana Dani Olmo also came off the bench for a brilliant cameo.

It should be noted, however, that Barcelona captain Frenkie de Jong did not participate in the night and even hesitated to celebrate the team’s victory after the result.

Therefore, all signs about his future are pessimistic and an exit seems more likely than ever.

The Dutch legend intervenes

Speaking to the media through SPORT in a recent interaction, former Dutch footballer Ruud Gullit expressed his disappointment over Frenkie de Jong’s situation at Barcelona and called for his exit as soon as possible.

“I hope you find a solution. I hope he finds a club that suits him so he can leave Barça. It’s time to look for something else.”

The legend then gave his opinion on which club would be best for the Dutchman, naming a team that Barcelona have faced and beaten this season.

“Which club would be perfect? Bayern. Bayern would be perfect for Frenkie. “It would be fantastic for them.”

Gullit then spoke about how difficult it was for him to see De Jong waste his best years on the bench, especially as Hansi Flick preferred other options ahead of him.

“I would like De Jong to play football again. He shouldn’t sit on the bench. He is 27 years old and is in his best years. This situation must change now.”

Finally, the former footballer spoke about the constant noise surrounding De Jong’s future and how it was not a healthy sign.

“It’s noisy. “That is something normal in the world of football to talk about offers and even more so with a player who does not have minutes.”

“I think Saudi clubs should also explore his incorporation because he is a great player.” he concluded.
