The Barcelona midfielder’s latest injury is due to stress over registrations

Barcelona midfielder Dani Olmo did not travel with the rest of the team to Lisbon for the UEFA Champions League match against SL Benfica this evening.

The 26-year-old has been sidelined with a strain to the soleus muscle in his right leg, the club confirmed, with sources suggesting a recovery time of ten days.

The stress of registration influenced

Now, according to SPORT, the stress caused by his registration situation played a major role in Olmo’s muscle strain. It is said that the discomfort is a direct consequence of the uncertainty surrounding his registration and that it has been going on for some weeks.

According to those close to him, Olmo went through difficult times. He has handled the situation the best he could and has never shown his frustration outwardly.

The Spaniard is aware of where he is and the effort it took to return to the club of his dreams, but that does not mean that the challenges he has faced since his signing, including missing the first two rounds of La Liga, have not taken their toll.

He has been affected and sources close to him revealed that during some training sessions he appeared dejected, sad and visibly worried.

After playing against Getafe, Olmo did not experience sharp pain or pulling. However, when he arrived at the locker room, the affected area felt like a solid mass.

The next day, after being examined by the club’s medical staff, it was confirmed that he was suffering from muscle overload.

Olmo knows his body well and, despite his desire to help the team in Lisbon, understands that risking a more serious injury would be reckless.

Therefore, he will not play in Lisbon and is also unlikely to participate in the next match against Valencia.

The most likely scenario is that he will be available for the final Champions League group stage match against Atalanta.
