Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski is about to ensure a contract renewal with the club, which needs to play only 55% of the games this season to activate the extension.
After participating in 32 of the 34 games, Lewandowski is just two games to reach the required threshold.
With Barcelona potentially playing a maximum of 59 games throughout the season, it is clear that the goal is within its reach.
Even so, the club’s management already considers that its renewal is a formality, given its exceptional actions.
A key player for Barcelona
This is not a surprise, especially taking into account Lewandowski’s impressive statistics. Their performances have far exceeded the initial expectations, silencing those who questioned the club of the club to bring it.
Lewandowski is just three goals to overcome its highest account for Barcelona, which is 33 goals during the 2022-2023 season and four goals ahead of its 26 goals since the 2023-2024 season.
Age is not a limiting factor for the 36 -year -old striker. Despite being in the last years of his career, Lewandowski is enjoying one of the most prolific periods of his career.
With 30 goals in 32 games so far, he has already scored five more than the 25 goals he scored in 49 games in 2014-2015, his debut season with Bayern Munich.
A consistent presence
Lewandowski’s achievements extend beyond their goals. It has two prestigious Pichichi awards and was the top scorer in the opening phase of the Champions League, despite not scoring against Atalanta.
He shared the position with Serhou Guirsy of Borussia Dortmund. His recent goal against Alaves keeps him at the top of the league scorers, with 18 goals, three more than Kylian Mbappe, who failed to score against Espanyol.
With the season still in its middle phase, and 19 more games to tour, including two in the Champions League and at least one in the Copa del Rey, Lewandowski is ready for even greater feats, potentially playing in the 59 games this season.
