Barcelona’s €100 million fan-favorite midfielder surveyed by Saudi Arabia

Saudi Arabia continues its expansion drive and positions itself as a dominant force in world football. Several of Europe’s best players are on his radar, many of whom play in La Liga.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Saudi Arabia is interested in Vinicius Jr., with the Middle Eastern country prepared to make a world-record bid of €350 million for the Real Madrid winger.

Pedri also on the radar of Saudi Arabia

Similarly, SPORT reports that Barcelona fans’ favorite midfielder Pedri is another player who has caught the eye of Saudi Arabia.

This measure is part of a broader strategy of the Middle Eastern nation, driven by a new injection of 4,000 million euros, which includes the investment of a US fund, with the 2034 World Cup, of which Saudi Arabia will host, in the horizon

The interest in Pedri is due in part to his contractual situation, since he only has a year and a half left on his current contract at Barcelona.

The idea was reinforced by the fact that Pedri was the player most acclaimed by the local fans during the Spanish Super Cup played in Saudi Arabia two weeks ago.

Héctor Peris, Pedri’s agent, was in Saudi Arabia during the Super Cup. And Saudi officials took advantage of their presence to communicate their intentions.

Their interest is driven by the Barcelona superstar’s obvious footballing qualities, his youth and the desire to have him as an ambassador for the 2034 World Cup.

While Saudi Arabia has approached Pedri, the Spanish international, who is having an outstanding season, is only focused on his future at Barcelona.

The 22-year-old is expected to renew his contract, which expires on June 30, 2026, and will likely be announced next week.
