Barcelona set its sights on the 18-year-old Argentine attacking prodigy

Barcelona is always alert to young and promising talents emerging both inside and outside Spain.

The Catalans have been strengthening their lower categories to bring out stars from within The Masia especially given its delicate financial situation.

This has led Barca to pursue and sign several youth prospects in recent times with another South American talent said to have now caught their attention.

Alex Woiski on Barcelona’s radar

In fact, according to SPORT, Barcelona is one of the clubs following teenage forward Alex Woiski, who plays for RCD Mallorca’s youth team.

The Mallorcan footballer has recently been in the news after being called up to represent Argentina in the South American Under-20 Championship.

Woiski’s journey in Mallorca began at the age of seven, when the club’s scouts first spotted the young talent.

Throughout his career in the youth categories he has stood out for his scoring ability, scoring nearly 500 goals during his time in the Mallorca youth team.

However, his defining moment came last season, when he played a key role in winning the Copa del Rey Juvenil, scoring four goals in the final.

This achievement caught the attention of big clubs such as Barcelona, as well as the Argentine coach, Lionel Scaloni, who knows Woiski well as he resides in Mallorca.

The young prospect is highly sought after in the transfer market, as his contract expires in June 2025 and he has not reached an agreement to renew with RCD Mallorca as he is not satisfied with the club’s conditions.

Barcelona are likely to already sign Marc Domenech, another interesting young talent from Mallorca’s youth set-up. And Woiski, who is certainly a fan of Lionel Messi, could also do the same.
