Barcelona rejects Juventus’ first offer for captain and will only consider selling him for 70 million euros

In an important development, Barcelona have rejected Juventus’ first formal offer for Ronald Araujo, as confirmed Sports World.

Despite knowing last week about the Italian club’s interest in signing the 25-year-old defender, and after Araujo’s agent asked the club to review the proposal, Barça’s response was blunt: “He’s not on the market.”

He blaugrana They see Araujo as a crucial piece in their team, especially as the team chases major trophies this season after failing to win anything last time.

The club emphasizes that the central defender, who is also the club’s vice-captain, is vital to their ambitions in the second half of the campaign.

The posture could change

If the player explicitly requests a transfer and presents an offer worth around €70 million, the Catalans could reconsider their position. Araujo’s contract lasts until 2026, giving Barça leverage in any negotiations.

Barcelona recognizes that Araujo’s market value could drop if they wait until the summer, when he only has one year left on his contract.

However, the club prioritizes his contribution to the current season, as they see him as a top-level central defender essential for the search for titles.

Meanwhile, Fabrizio Romano mentions that negotiations between the clubs will enter key stages next week, with Juventus making Araujo a top priority. There won’t be any big moves until after the Spanish Super Cup.

For now, he remains a key figure in Barça’s plans, but his future could depend on Juve’s willingness to live up to the club’s high valuation, or a direct request from the player to move on.
