Pablo Torre has found it difficult to get regular minutes this season at FC Barcelona under Hansi Flick.
The midfield talent has done very well every time he has been called by the coach. But it hasn’t been enough to earn him a regular spot in Flick’s setup.
Tower is not going anywhere
In the midst of his unfavorable situation at Barcelona, Pablo Torre has made a clear decision about his future, reports Sports World.
Although everything is possible until the last day of the transfer market, scheduled for February 3, the former Racing de Santander star has no intention of leaving the club at this time.
On the contrary, despite not playing in La Liga since November 30 and missing the Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, Torre is determined to fight for more playing minutes with Flick.
With the team still active in all competitions, the young midfielder understands that the coach will need to give opportunities to players who have had less involvement. And he is clear that he must be prepared when his opportunity arrives.
So far, in La Liga, he has played only seven games, accumulating 248 minutes, but he has three goals and one assist.
Currently, the Copa del Rey has been his main platform, starting against Barbastro, where he played 81 minutes, and playing 13 minutes in the round of 16 against Betis. In total 94 minutes he adds one goal and two assists.
A valuable asset
Despite fierce competition in midfield with Pedri, Marc Casad, Frenkie de Jong, Gavi, Fermín López and Dani Olmo, Torre is a well-regarded asset at Barcelona. He is valued for his ability to offer something different and change the course of a match.
Furthermore, a possible exit for the 21-year-old would also not offer any significant relief in terms of Fair Play margin, as he is on a low salary.
For this reason, Barcelona has no intention of seeking to get rid of Torre during this winter market, while the midfielder is committed to staying at the club and fighting for more minutes.
The Spaniard understands that securing a starting role is difficult, but competing in such a prestigious team and thriving in this environment could offer many more benefits than seeking a loan move to a smaller club this winter.
