Barcelona forced to pay a good part of the rate of 5 million euros from the sale of Youngster to Girona

In a surprising development, Barcelona will pay Girona a specific sum as part of the transfer of Unai Hernández to Al-Ithad, according to Sport.

The talented game creator is preparing to go to Saudi Arabia after both Barça and Al-Titihad reached an agreement for transfer. The agreement will make Barcelona receive 5 million euros, a sum that will help replace the club’s finances.

This movement seems to benefit all the parties involved at this time. UNAI’s contract with Barcelona expired on June 30, which allowed him to start free of charge, but this transfer agreement ensures that both clubs receive compensation.

Unai is scheduled to undergo a medical examination on Wednesday morning, with plans to fly to Saudi Arabia the next day. Al-Titihad’s proposal was an offer that Barcelona could not reject.

As part of the agreement, Girona will receive a part of the transfer rate, thanks to an inserted clause when Unai moved to Barcelona from the Catalan club in 2022.

At that time, Girona inserted a clause that would give them the right to a percentage of any future sale, especially given the impressive season of onia with them before joining Barça.

Unai had worked well in Girona, even training with the first team under the manager Míchel, despite being a young player.

His transfer to Barcelona from the youth team to Girona, reached a relatively low cost, and Girona assured the clause to protect his interests.

With the agreement now ended at € 5 million, Girona can receive a significant sum, which could be around € 500,000. This payment takes into account training rights, since UNAI spent more than seven years developing in Girona’s youth system.

This agreement ensures that Girona benefits from his development, even when he advances to the next stage of his career in Saudi Arabia.
